Here are the facts, why you should never ever leave pets (or people) in the car:
On a warm day in the sun a car acts like a magnifying glass, amplifying the heat.
It only takes a few minutes in a hot car and your loved ones could fall into trouble or even die from heatstroke.
Even on cooler days if your car is in the sun it can become dangerously hot, dangerously quick.
With An outside temperature of just 70F (21C), in under an 20 minutes a car can climb to well over 100F (37C).
Car temperatures will climb to unsafe conditions even if you leave the windows open!
If your pet does get heatstroke it can cause permanent damage, organ failure and even death.
So why take the chance with your loved ones life? Don't leave them inside a vehicle!
This list doesn't include all breeds that are more susceptible to heat. If you're unsure if your dog is ok to bring out on a warmer day, make an appointment with your local veterinarian and find out before taking the chance with your loved ones life. That being said, Even if your dog loves the heat, if your dog is overweight or out of shape they can suffer sudden heatstroke or heat exhaustion more easily then normal!
Not all dog breeds are equal in all things. That's not to say one breed is better then another, but each has its own unique traits, strengths and weaknesses. Knowing your pets strengths can be the difference between a healthy, happy puppy or a very sick animal.
